Adjustments
Rear Axle Drive Chain Adjustment
To adjust the rear axle drive chain, loosen the rearmost eccentric
locking bolts and rotate using the same method as outlined for the front
chain adjustment. Total slack for the rear chain should be adjusted to
3/8″-1/2″ (.95-.1.3 cm) at the tightest point in the chain.
Carburetor/Engine Idle RPM Adjustment
Recommended engine idle RPM is 1200 +/- 200. If the engine idle
speed is unsatisfactory and all other conditions are favorable, the
carburetor can be adjusted as follows:
1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up for
approximately five minutes.
2. Place the transmission in gear with the
parking brake applied.
3. Adjust the carburetor idle screw (1) in or
out until the desired idle RPM is reached.
Turning the screw in (clockwise) will raise
RPM. Turning the screw out
(counterclockwise) will lower RPM.
