Selecting a U.S. Standard or Metric Display
The treadmill can display measurements in either U.S.
Standard or Metric. When the M9.31 treadmill is shipped
from the factory it is set to display U.S. Standard. To change
this setting, perform the following steps:
1. At the scrolling Precor banner, press the following keys in
sequence and without pause:
RESET, SELECT, SPEED ▼, SPEED ▲, INCLINE ▲
As shown in Diagram 10, numbers are associated with the
keypad. The numbers 5, 6, 7, 1 appear on the display as
you press the associated key.

2. SELECT UNITS scrolls across the display, and then the
current unit of measure appears. Any ▼ or ▲ key lets you
alternate between the prompts.
3. Press SELECT to accept the displayed setting. The
change will be retained in memory even if the treadmill is
turned OFF and unplugged.
4. To continue programming the treadmill to change
password protection, refer to Selecting Password
Protection.
5. If you want to end programming, press RESET.

Note: The password protection program is part of a two-part
sequence that starts with the steps found in Selecting a U.S.
Standard or Metric Display.
6. PASSWORD: scrolls across the display, and then the
state of protection (enabled or disabled) appears. Any ▼
or ▲ key lets you alternate between the two selections.

Setting Description
Password Enabled Causes the password prompt to
appear prior to a workout and
when returning from Pause mode.
Password Disabled Lets you turn off the password
prompt. Use this option with
caution.
