Traction Products
Another way to tailor your machine is to install traction products. See
your dealer about installing studs and/or carbides. Many tracks with
deep lug designs cannot be studded, but your dealer will be able to offer
advice and assistance.
NOTE: Before equipping your machine with traction products, be
aware of the laws in your area pertaining to the use of traction
products.
Track studding will enhance braking control on hard-packed snow or
ice, but extreme caution is still required on such surfaces. Steering abil-
ity may be reduced on hard-packed snow or ice.
CAUTION
Installing studs on models without wear strips will result in damage to the
cooler or tunnel. Always ensure that wear strips are installed before installing
studs. See your dealer for more details.
WARNING
Loss of control can result in serious personal injury or death. Proper balance
of traction products on the skis and track must be maintained to obtain proper
vehicle control on hard-packed snow or ice. See your dealer for assistance.
CAUTION
Use of studs longer than the recommended length on machines equipped
with coolers will result in damage to the cooler or tunnel. Always use the rec-
ommended length studs.
