Section 4: Entering Text
This section describes how to select the desired text input method
when entering characters into your phone. It also describes the
predictive text entry system that reduces the number of key
strokes associated with entering text.
Your phone is equipped with an orientation detector that can tell if
the phone is being held in a portrait (upright) or landscape
(sideways) orientation. The landscape orientation makes entering
text easier. Whether the phone is sideways or upright, an on-
screen keyboard is displayed.
Language Selection
If more than one input language is selected in the keyboard’s Input
language settings, an icon is added to the right of the spacebar
that changes the keyboard language. For more information, refer
to “keyboard” on page 70. Tap the icon to cycle through the enabled keyboard languages.
