Connectivity
Media transfer and Mass storage
You can drag and drop files between
your cell phone or memory card and
a computer in Microsoft Windows
Explorer.
To use media transfer and mass
storage mode

Connect the USB cable to the cell
phone and the computer.

Phone: Select
Mass storage
>
Menu
>
Settings
> the
Connectivity
tab >
USB
>
USB mode
>
Mass storage
. The cell
phone will shut down in this mode
and restart when disconnected from
the USB cable.

Phone: Select
Media transfer
and the
cell phone will remain activated during
file transfer.

Computer: Wait until the phone
memory and memory card appear
as external disks in Windows Explorer.

Drag and drop selected files between
the cell phone and the computer.
To disconnect the USB cable safely

Right-click the removable disk icon
in Windows Explorer.

Select Eject.

Disconnect the USB cable when the
following message is shown in the cell
phone:
Mass storage session ended
.
Phone mode
Before synchronizing or using your cell
phone as a modem you must install
the Sony Ericsson PC Suite software
on your computer. See To install the
Sony Ericsson PC Suite on page 56.
To use phone mode

Computer: Start PC Suite from Start/
Programs/Sony Ericsson/PC Suite.

Connect the USB cable to the cell
phone and the computer.
Only use a USB cable supported by your
cell phone. Do not remove the USB
cable from your cell phone or computer
during file transfer as this may corrupt
the phone memory or the memory card.
Before

ransferring files you must install
the Sony Ericsson PC Suite software on
your computer. See To install the
Sony Ericsson PC Suite on page 56.
