5-6 Adding
PCI
Cards
1. PCI slots
The X7DBR-i+/X7DBR-8+ has two PCI expansion slots, which includes one PCI-
Express x16 slot and one universal 64-bit, 133 MHz PCI-X slot. Two riser cards are
included with the server: the CSE-RR1U-X riser fi ts into the 133 MHz PCI-X slot
to support a standard size (full-height, full-length) PCI-X add-on card (any speed)
and the CSE-RR1U-EL fi ts into the PCI-Express slot to support one standard size
PCI-Express add-on card. Only one riser card may be used at a time.
2. PCI card installation
Before installing a PCI add-on card, see step 1, above. Begin by swinging the
release tab on the I/O backpanel shield out to the left for the PCI slot. Insert the
PCI card into the correct riser card (depending on whether it is a standard or low-
profi le card), pushing down with your thumbs evenly on both sides of the card.
Finish by pushing the release tab back to its original (locked) position. Follow this
procedure when adding a card to either slot.
