Figure 5-5. Installing DIMM into Slot
Memory Support
The X7DBR-i+/X7DBR-8+ supports up to 64 GB of FBD (Fully Buffered DIMM) ECC
DDR2-667/533. Populating with pairs of memory modules that are of the same size
and same type will result in interleaved memory (minimum four DIMMs needed).
Note: Due to OS limitations, some operating systems may not show more than 4
GB of memory. To optimize memory support, follow the table below for memory
installation:
To Install: Insert module vertically and press down until it snaps into place. Pay attention to the bot-
tom notch.
To Remove: Use your thumbs to gently push each release tab outward to free the DIMM from the
slot.

Notes: i. a DIMM slot# specified means that slot should be populated, whereas “---“ means that
DIMM slot should not be populated. ii. Both FBD 533 MHz and 667MHz DIMMs are supported,
however all memory modules must be of the same speed and type. iii. Interleaved memory is
supported when pairs of DIMM modules are installed in both Branch 0 and Branch 1.
Interleaved memory is not supported with only two DIMMs installed. iv. For memory to work
properly, you need to follow the restrictions listed above.
