Load a disc.

0 When formatting a DVD-RW disc, confirm on
the mode to be formatted.

0 Press ENTER to return to the setup menu.

Exit formatting.

9 Formatting will erase all the data. As such,
before formatting a recorded disc, make sure
the disc does not contain important
recordings.
9 Brand new DVD-RAM or DVD-RW discs
may also need to be formatted.
9 To use a DVD-R disc in VR mode, format the
new disc in VR mode. (It will be in Video
mode when not formatted.)

CAUTIONS:
0 Never turn off the unit or disconnect the AC power
cord while ANOW FORMATTING...B is displayed on
the TV screen.
0 All the titles on a disc will be deleted once the disc is
formatted even if they are protected titles. [ P88]
0 DVD-R discs can only be formatted once.
