Registering With the Satellite Network
Satellite
Mode
If you know your phone is outside the range of your
local service, use this feature to access Iridium
satellite service.
Your phone searches for the Iridium satellite
network.
1. Rotate and extend the antenna
upward.
See “Holding the Phone” on page 45.
Register Now
.
3. Press
O
to select. You will see
Registering...
. This may take a few
seconds.
If the phone finds the signal, you will see
Registered
and the signal strength
indicator:
rx
The
n
indicator also appears.
If the phone is unsuccessful you may see
one of these messages:
Rotate Antenna
,
Orient Antenna
,
System Busy
,
Restricted Area
, or
Weak Signal
.
Cellular
Mode
This feature does not apply to cellular mode. You
will not see this menu option in this mode.
