84 Troubleshooting
Mouse
The mouse does not work
■ Make sure that the mouse cable is plugged in correctly.
■ Try a mouse you know is working to make sure the mouse port works.
■ Shut down and restart your computer.
■ Reinstall the device driver. For instructions, see “Reinstalling device
drivers” on page 68.
The mouse works erratically
■ Clean the mouse. If the mouse pointer begins moving erratically across
the screen or becomes difficult to control precisely, then cleaning the
mouse will likely improve the mouse accuracy.
To clean your mouse:
1 Turn the mouse upside down .
2 Rotate the retaining ring on the bottom of the mouse
counter-clockwise
.
3 Remove the retaining ring and mouse ball .
