Control Pad The area on the device that contains the
Handwriting area, the Launcher and Menu
icons and the scroll arrows.
On/Off Button & Press once to turn the device on. Press
again to turn the device off. You can also
control the backlight (in models with backlight
screens) with this button. When the device is
on, press and hold this button for approxi-
mately two seconds to turn on the backlight.
Press and hold again to turn the backlight off.
Control Pad
The Control Pad is the area below the touch-sensitive screen
where you can tap icons, write characters, or use the scroll area
to control eBookMan.
Scroll area Use the scroll arrows or scroll lines to move
up and down on the eBookMan screen.
Handwriting Write letters in the Letter input area ( ),
punctuation in the Punctuation input area ( ),
and numbers in the Number input area ( ).
Menu icon Tap this icon at any time to see the available
menus.
Launcher icon Tap this icon to return to the Launcher
screen. Please see “Chapter 5. The
Launcher” on page 67 for more information.
