Troubleshooting
Power won’t turn on .
−
Is the AC adapter correctly connected?
No sound .
−
Remove all patch cables and try setting the panel settings on the ARP 2600 M to
the “basic settings” (see “Basic settings” on page 20).

Could the LEFT SPEAKER slider, RIGHT SPEAKER slider (see “Front panel
(SPEAKER section L, SPEAKER section R)” on page 16), the VCA section’s
VCA AUDIO input level 1 slider (see “VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier)” on
page 12), the MIXER section’s input level 1 slider, or the input level 2 slider (see
“MIXER” on page 13) be lowered all the way?

Is the ARP 2600 M correctly connected to the input jack of your amp, mixer, or
headphones?

Is your amp or mixer powered-on, and is the volume raided on that device?
−
Is a pair of headphones connected to this instrument?
Sound will not come out the speakers while the headphones are connected.
Does not respond to MIDI data sent from an external device .

Is the MIDI cable or USB cable connected correctly? (see “Connections” on page 18)

Does the MIDI channel of the data being sent from the external MIDI device match
the global MIDI channel of the ARP 2600 M? (see “MIDI channel” on page 22)

Does the USB-MIDI controller feature USB hub functionality?
USB-MIDI controllers with USB hub functionality cannot be used.
Can’t input sound from an external audio source .

Is an external audio source correctly connected to the input jack of
the PREAMPLIFIER section? Also, could the GAIN knob be at 0? (see

Is the output jack of the PREAMPLIFIER section connected to the audio input of
the VCF or MIXER?
About the MIDI implementation chart
The MIDI implementation chart lists the MIDI messages that can be transmitted
and received. When using a MIDI device, compare the MIDI implementation charts
to check that the MIDI messages are compatible. You can download the MIDI
implementation chart for this device from the Korg website.

Restoring the factory settings
You can restore the voice assign mode and trigger mode settings to their original
factory-set state.
How to restore the settings
1.
Turn on the power of the ARP 2600 M while holding
down the MANUAL START switch on the panel.
2.
When the power lamp lights, release and press the
MANUAL START switch eight times consecutively.
3.
The settings will be loaded from memory (the power
lamp blinks), and the unit will start up normally.
After you change this setting, wait for several seconds (while the power lamp
is blinking) before turning off the power. Failure to do so might damage the
data, causing malfunctions.
