{

The operating temperature of the switch is normal, and the power module has good ventilation
(over-temperature can cause the power module to stop working and enter the protection state).

2.

If the system status LED is on but the RPS status LED is steady yellow, an AC/–48V DC input failure
has occurred.
Verify the following items:

{

The power cord is well connected to the switch, and the AC/–48V DC receptacle on the switch
and the AC/–48V DC power receptacle are normal.

{

The AC/–48V DC power source is normal.

3.

If the system status LED is on but the RPS status LED is off, an RPS input failure has occurred.
Verify the following items:

{

The switch is well connected to the external RPS power supply.

{

The external RPS is correctly operating.

NOTE:

If the problem persists, contact your local sales agent or service engineer.

Hot swappable power module failure

The S5500-28F-EI supports hot swappable power modules. You can look at the PWR1 or PWR2 LED on
the front panel of an S5500-28F-EI switch and the LEDs on the power module to identify a power module
failure.

When the power supply system functions correctly, the corresponding power module LEDs should be
steady green. Otherwise, verify that

The switch power cord is correctly connected.

The power supply meets the requirement.

The operating temperature of the switch is normal and proper ventilation is ensured for the power
module.

NOTE:

For description of the PWR1 and PWR2 LEDs on the front panel of the switch, see

Table 8

.

If the problem persists, contact your local sales agent or service engineer.

To replace a hot swappable power module, see "

Installing and removing a hot swappable power

module

Fan failure

You can look at the system status LED and the seven-segment LED of an S5500-EI switch to identify a fan
failure. If both LEDs are behaving as described in

Table 30

, a fan failure occurs.
