Eggs, sausages,
nuts, seeds, fruits &
vegetables
• Puncture egg yolks before cooking to prevent
bursting.
• Pierce skins of potatoes, apples, squash, hot dogs
and sausages so steam escapes.
• DO NOT cook eggs in shells.
• DO NOT reheat whole eggs.
• DO NOT dry nuts or seeds in shells.
Popcorn
• Use popcorn specially packaged for microwave
cooking.
• Listen for the popping of corn to slow to 1 or 2
seconds between pops to avoid overcooking.
• Use the special Popcorn feature by touching the
POPCORN
pad.
• DO NOT pop corn in regular brown
paper bags or glass bowls.
• DO NOT exceed the maximum cook-
ing time listed in the package instruc-
tions.
Baby food
• Transfer baby food to a small dish and heat care-
fully, stirring often.
• Check temperature before serving. Test tempera-
ture of bottles on your wrist before serving.
• Attach nipples to bottles AFTER heating. Shake
well before serving.
• DO NOT heat disposable bottles.
• DO NOT heat bottles with nipples
attached.
• DO NOT heat baby food in original
jars.
General
• Cut filled baked goods after heating to release
steam.
• Stir liquids briskly before and after heating to avoid
eruption.
• Use a deep bowl when cooking liquids and cereals
to prevent boil-overs. Refer to the height of the side
walls of the oven.
• DO NOT heat or cook in closed glass
jars or airtight containers.
• DO NOT use the microwave for can-
ning, as harmful bacteria may not be
destroyed.
• DO NOT deep-fat fry in the microwave.
• DO NOT dry wood, gourds, herbs or
wet papers.
