Connecting Switches to the Stack’s Backplane
The optional Stacking Module ships with one 32 cm stacking cable. The
32 cm stacking cable can also be ordered separately, if required.
Figure 2-2 shows how the stack cables are cascaded between switches
in a stack (rack). To connect up to seven switches to the backplane, plug
one end of the stack cable in the “DOWN” port of the top switch and the
other end to the “UP” port of the next switch. Repeat this step for each
switch in the stack (or rack). Form a simple chain starting at the DOWN
port on the first switch and ending at the UP port on the last switch.
