Notes on waterproof and dustproof features
(Read before using the unit)
The supplied accessories are neither waterproof nor dustproof.
Waterproof and dustproof performance of the unit
The unit, with the cap fastened securely, has a waterproof specification of IPX7 as specified in “Degree
of protection against water immersion” of the IEC60529 “Ingress Protection Rating (IP Code)”, and a
dustproof specification of IP6X as specified in “Degrees of protection against solid foreign objects”.
• The supplied accessories and the connectors of this unit (USB) are neither water resistant nor
dustproof. To reduce the risk of fires or electric shocks, do not expose the unit to water or droplets
while using any connectors (USB) .
Note that malfunctions as a result of water immersion or dust intrusion caused by misuse by the
customer are not covered by the warranty.
To avoid the deterioration of waterproof and dustproof
performance
Carefully note the precautions below to ensure proper use of the unit.
• The unit passes the drop test from 1.22 m (4 ft) on plywood of 5 cm (2 in) thickness conforming to
MIL-STD810H Method 516.8-Shock. However, this does not guarantee no damage, no breakdown, or
waterproof and dustproof performance in all conditions. Deformation or damage from dropping the
unit or subjecting it to mechanical shock may cause deterioration of the waterproof and dustproof
performance.
• This unit does not have a design that is resistant to water pressure. Use of the unit in a location where
high water pressure is applied, such as in the shower, may cause a malfunction.
• Do not pour high-temperature water or blow hot air from a hair dryer or any other appliance on the
unit directly. Also never use the unit in a place subject to high temperatures, such as in a sauna or
near a heat source.
CAUTION
:
Handle the cap with care. The cap plays a very important role in maintenance of the
water resistant and dustproof performance. When using the unit, make sure that the cap is closed
completely. When closing the cap, be careful not to allow foreign objects inside. If the cap is not closed
completely the water resistant and dustproof performance may deteriorate and may cause a
malfunction of the unit as a result of water or dust particles entering the unit.

How to care for the unit
Although the fabric part of the unit has water repellent treatment applied, you can use the unit more
comfortably and for a longer period of time by following the maintenance procedure below.
• If the surface of the unit gets dirty in the following cases, wash the unit with fresh water (tap water,
etc.) promptly to remove the dirt. Leaving dirt on its surface may cause the surface to discolor or
deteriorate, or the unit to malfunction.
Ex.
– When the unit has sand, salt (chlorine), or other residue on it after having been used in a mountain
area, by a swimming pool, etc.
– When the unit is stained with foreign substances (sunscreen, suntan oil, etc.)
• Wipe off the moisture on its surface, and put the unit on a dry soft cloth to drain the collected water
inside the unit. Then, dry the unit in an airy place until no moisture remains.
• The sound quality may change when water enters the speaker or passive radiator section of the unit.

• If the surface of the unit gets dirty, do not use detergent, thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. to clean the
unit because it will affect the water repellent function of the fabric part of the unit.
• Especially in cold regions, be sure to wipe off the moisture after using the unit. Leaving moisture on
its surface may cause the unit to freeze and malfunction.
• If sand grains, etc. enter the fabric or other part of the unit, remove them carefully. Never use a
vacuum cleaner, etc. on the unit. It may cause damage of the speaker section or other part of the unit.
Precautions
On placement
• When you carry around the unit, firmly grasp the unit with one hand and put it on the palm of the
other hand to prevent it from slipping off. Otherwise, the unit may cause injuries, damage to the unit
itself, or damage to household contents by slipping off.
• To eliminate the risk of malfunctions, avoid the following locations when placing or leaving this unit.
– A place subject to high temperatures, such as under direct sunlight or lighting equipment, near a
heat source, or in a sauna
– Inside a vehicle with the windows closed (especially in summertime)
– A place subject to excessive dust
– A place subject to strong vibration
• Place this unit on a flat, level surface. When placed on a sloped surface, the unit may fall over or fall
off the surface due to its own vibration, resulting in injuries, malfunctions, or performance
degradation.
• Depending on the conditions where this unit is placed, it may fall over or fall off the surface. Do not
leave any valuables near the unit.
• This unit is not anti-magnetic. Keep objects susceptible to magnetism (recorded tapes, watches, cash
cards and credit cards with magnetic coding, etc.) away from the unit. When you carry around the
unit, keep this in mind as well.
Other notes
• Do not use or leave the unit in an extremely cold or hot environment (temperature outside the range
of 5 °C – 35 °C (41 °F – 95 °F)). If the unit is used or left in outside the above range, the unit may
automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
• If you use this unit for a long time, the temperature of this unit may rise, but it is not a malfunction.
• At high temperature, the charging may stop or the volume may reduce to protect the battery.
• Even if you do not intend to use the unit for a long time, charge the battery to its full capacity once
every 6 months to maintain its performance.

Depending on the status of the unit, the voice guidance outputs from the unit as followings.
• When entering pairing mode: “BLUETOOTH pairing”

Étanchéité à l’eau et étanchéité aux poussières de l’appareil
L’appareil, avec le capuchon fixé fermement, est conforme à la norme d’étanchéité à l’eau IPX7 comme
spécifié à la section « Degré de protection contre la pénétration d’eau » de la norme IEC60529 « Indice
de protection contre la pénétration (Code IP) », ainsi qu’à la norme d’étanchéité aux poussières IP6X
comme spécifié à la section « Degré de protection contre des corps étrangers solides ».
• Les accessoires fournis et les connecteurs de cet appareil (USB) ne sont pas résistants à l’eau ni
étanches aux poussières. Pour réduire le risque d’incendies ou d’électrocution, n’exposez pas
l’appareil à l’eau ou gouttes d’eau lorsque vous utilisez un des connecteurs (USB).
N’oubliez pas que la garantie ne couvre pas les défaillances consécutives à l’immersion dans l’eau ou
l’intrusion de poussières provenant d’un mauvais emploi par l’utilisateur.

Veuillez observer les précautions ci-dessous pour assurer une utilisation correcte de l’appareil.
• L’appareil a réussi le test de chute de 1,22 m (4 pi) sur du contreplaqué d’une épaisseur de 5 cm (2 po),
conformément à la norme MIL-STD810H Method 516.8-Shock. Cela ne garantit toutefois pas l’absence
de dommage et de panne, l’étanchéité à l’eau et l’étanchéité aux poussières dans toutes les
conditions. Toute déformation ou dommage dы а la chute de l’appareil ou à une exposition à des
chocs mécaniques peut entraîner la détérioration de l’étanchéité à l’eau et l’étanchéité aux
poussières.
• De par sa conception, cet appareil ne résiste pas à la pression de l’eau. L’utilisation de l’appareil dans
un endroit où une haute pression d’eau est appliquée, comme sous la douche, peut provoquer un
dysfonctionnement.
• Ne versez pas d’eau très chaude et ne soufflez pas de l’air chaud provenant d’un sèche-cheveux ou
d’un autre appareil, directement sur l’appareil. En outre, n'utilisez jamais l'appareil dans un endroit
soumis à des températures élevées, tel qu'à proximité d'une source de chaleur ou dans un sauna.
MISE EN GARDE :
manipulez le capuchon avec soin. Le capuchon joue un rôle très important pour
préserver la résistance à l’eau et l’étanchéité aux poussières. Lorsque vous utilisez l’appareil,
assurez-vous que le capuchon est complètement fermé. Quand vous fermez le capuchon, veillez à ne
laisser aucun corps étranger pénétrer. Si le capuchon n’est pas complètement fermé, la résistance à
l’eau et l’étanchéité aux poussières risquent de se détériorer et de provoquer une défaillance de
l’appareil en raison de la pénétration de l’eau ou de particules de poussière à l’intérieur de celui-ci.

Comment prendre soin de l’appareil
Bien qu’un traitement repoussant l’eau ait été appliqué à la partie en tissu de l’appareil, nous vous
recommandons de suivre la procédure d’entretien ci-dessous pour pouvoir utiliser l’appareil plus
confortablement et plus longtemps.
• Si la surface de l’appareil est encrassée d’une des manières suivantes, lavez l’appareil à l’eau claire
(eau du robinet, etc.) immédiatement pour éliminer la saleté. Si vous laissez des saletés sur la surface,
elle peut se décolorer ou se détériorer ou bien l’appareil risque de ne plus fonctionner correctement.
Ex.
– Si du sable, du sel (chlore) ou autre résidu adhère sur l’appareil après une utilisation à la montagne
ou au bord d’une piscine, etc.
– Si l’appareil est tâché par des corps étrangers (crème solaire, huile de bronzage, etc.)
• Essuyez l’humidité sur sa surface, puis placez l’appareil sur un chiffon doux et sec pour évacuer l’eau
recueillie à l’intérieur de l’appareil. Ensuite, laissez aussi sécher l’appareil dans un endroit bien aéré
jusqu’à ce que l’humidité disparaisse.
• La qualité du son peut changer lorsque de l’eau pénètre dans la partie enceinte ou la partie du
radiateur passif de l’appareil. Cela ne constitue pas un dysfonctionnement. Essuyez l’humidité sur sa
surface, puis placez l’appareil sur un chiffon doux et sec pour évacuer l’eau recueillie à l’intérieur de
l’appareil. Ensuite, laissez aussi sécher l’appareil dans un endroit bien aéré jusqu’à ce que l’humidité
disparaisse.
Remarque
• Si la surface de l’appareil est sale, n’utilisez pas de détergent, diluant, benzène, alcool, etc. pour
nettoyer l’appareil, sous peine d’affecter la fonction qui repousse l’eau de la partie en tissu de
l’appareil.
• Surtout dans les régions froides, veillez à éliminer l’humidité après avoir utilisé l’appareil. Si vous
laissez l’humidité sur la surface de l’appareil, celui-ci risque de geler et de ne plus fonctionner
correctement.
• Si des grains de sable, etc. pénètrent dans la partie en tissu ou toute autre partie de l’appareil,
enlevez-les avec soin. N’utilisez jamais un aspirateur, etc. sur l’appareil. Cela pourrait endommager le
haut-parleur ou toute autre partie de l’appareil.
