1. Overview
Thank you for purchasing PLANET MTB family 10G SFP+ /
XFP Gigabit Ethernet module. The MTB family 10G SFP+
/ XFP Gigabit Ethernet module can install into PLANET
products with 10G SFP+ / XFP interface. The distance can
be extended from 300 meters (Multi-mode, LC), up to 10
kilometers (Single-mode, LC).
3. Checklist
Your MTB carton should contain the following items:
● The 10G SFP+ / XFP Gigabit Ethernet module
● This User’s Manual
If any item is missing or damaged, please consult the
dealer from whom you purchased your MTB family 10G
SFP+ / XFP Gigabit Ethernet module.
2. Install the 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC module by
inserting it into the 10G SFP+ slots of ENW-9800 and
sliding it in until it stops (See Figure 1). Press it firmly
until you feel the module snap into place. Never force,
twist or bend the 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC module.
The 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC module slides in
smoothly and the ENW-9800 will automatically detect the
new module.

5. Installing 10G Ethernet Modules
5.1 Install the 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC
module- MTB-SR / MTB-LR
The 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC module can install into
Planet products with 10G STP+ interface. Please refer to
following steps to install the 10GBase-LR / SR mini-GBIC
modules:
The following step will base on the ENW-9800 (Dual 10Gbps
SFP+ PCI Express Server Adapter).
1. Once PLANET ENW-9800 installed into a PC, its dual 10G
SFP+ slots support hot swappable feature.
5.2 Install the 10GBase-LR / SR Fiber Optic
module- MTB-XSR / MTB-XLR
The 10GBase-LR / SR Fiber Optic module can install into
Planet products with 10G XFP interface. Please refer to
following steps to install the 10GBase-LR / SR Fiber Optic
modules:
The following step will base on the XGS3-XFP (1-Port 10G
XFP Optic Module for XGS3-24040 (24-Port Gigabit with 2
Optional 10G slots Layer 3 Managed Stackable Switch).
1. Once install XGS3-XFP module into XGS3-24040, its 10G
XFP slot support hot swappable feature.
