Mounting (Permanent):
CAUTION! As mounting this beacon will require drilling, it is absolutely necessary to make sure that no other vehicle components could be
damaged in the process. Check both sides of the mounting surface before starting and if damage is possible, select a different mounting area.
1. Position the beacon on its proposed mounting surface.
2. Using the base gasket as a template, scribe the mounting surface where the 3 mounting holes and wire passage hole will be drilled.
3. Using a #16 drill bit, drill the 3 mounting holes. Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill the wire passage hole. Install the included grommet into this hole.
4. Route the RED & BLACK wires through the center hole in the base gasket and through the grommeted wire passage hole. Apply RTV silicone to the
grommeted opening for protection.
5. Align the mounting holes with the base gasket and the base of the beacon and secure with the included #10 x 1” screws.
Wiring:
WARNING! The strobe light power supply is a high voltage device. Do not remove strobe tubes or dismantle strobe light
head assemblies in the system while it is in operation. Wait 10 minutes after turning off power before starting work or
any trouble shooting.
Extend the wires to the battery and connect the BLACK wire to ground. Connect the RED wire to
one end of a user supplied Single Pole/Single Throw switch (Optional). Extend a wire from the
switch to a fuse block (3 amps). After the fuse block is in place, connect the RED wire to the
POSITIVE (+) terminal of the battery. After this connection has been made, inspect the wires and
make sure they are wired correctly.
WARNING! All customer supplied wires that connect to the positive terminal of the battery
must be sized to supply at least 125% of the maximum operating current and FUSED at the
battery to carry that load. DO NOT USE CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH THIS PRODUCT!
Magnetic Mount (Optional):
Place the beacon on any flat metal surface and plug the cigar cord into the vehicles cigar lighter.
The beacon is controlled with the On/Off cigar cord switch.
IMPORTANT! The use of any magnetically mounted warning beacon on the outside of a
vehicle while in motion is not recommended and is at the sole discretion and responsibility
of the user.
