Making Cable Connections
All cables connect to the PDX 218 SCSI Bus 1 and SCSI Bus 2 connectors on the rear
panel as shown in Figure 2-6.

PDX218 SCSI Cable Connections
The following examples show SCSI cable connections between the PDX 218 and the
Profile Video File Server.
NOTE: After making SCSI connections, you must use the Profile Disk Utility
software to create a file system on the PDX 218 disk drives before it can operate as
part of the Profile system. See “Creating a File System on the PDX 218” on page
2-12.
One PDX218 Connected to a Profile System with Two Disk Recorder Boards
Figure 2-7 shows a PDX 218 connected to a Profile system with Master and Slave
Disk Recorder Boards installed. The location of the Disk Recorder Boards may be
different than shown in Figure 2-7. To locate the Disk Recorder boards in your
system, see the rear panel board slot labels.
