System Set-up for Ethernet
If you are going to use an Intel Ether Express 16 10 BaseT Ethernet board, perform
A below. If you have installed the SMC 10/100 BaseT Ethernet board supplied
with this upgrade kit, perform B below.
A. For the Intel board:
1. Reboot the Profile system and log in as administrator.
2. From a command prompt, type, netenabl and press Return.
3. Reboot the system.
4. Proceed to “Configuring the Ethernet Board for TCP/IP” on page 75.
B. For the SMC board:
1. Double click on the Load CMOS icon in the PDR Debug group.
2. Reboot the Profile system and log in as administrator.
3. Ensure that you are in the directory where the Profile software is installed
(usually c:\profile).
4. Open the Control Panel and double click on the Network icon.
5.In the list of adapters, highlight the Intel Ether Express Adapter and click
on the Remove Adapter button.
6. Click on the Add Adapter button, select Other (at the end of the list), and then
click Continue .
7. When prompted for the directory, type c:\profile\drivers\smc and press
Return.
8.Select OK at the Select OEM Option prompt.
9. When prompted, choose 10Mbps and then select OK.
10. Click OK in the Network dialog box.
11. When prompted for the TCP/IP configuration, proceed to “Configuring
the Ethernet Board for TCP/IP” below.
