Maintenance
8-1 Lubrication
Quarterly
Grease all fan bearings, fan motors, and pump motors that do not have permanently sealed
bearings. Remove grease relief plug (motors only) before adding grease. Failure to do so may
result in dislodging the bearing grease retainer which will eventually cause bearing failure.
Compressors are hermetically sealed and no oiling is required.
8-2 Filter Cleaning
Air Cooled Models
Filter cleaning is important to keep your Glacier Series Air Cooled Portable Chiller operating at
peak capacity. Clean them whenever they are dirty.
To clean, slide the filter from its mount and hose down with clean water. If the dirt is heavy, use
a mild detergent and rinse well. Allow the filter to dry completely before replacing it on the
chiller.
Note: AEC recommends keeping a spare filter on hand. Install and use it when cleaning the
other filter.
Caution!
Do not use compressed air to blow off a dirty filter.
You won’t clean it very well, and you could damage it, too!
NEVER RUN THE CHILLER WITHOUT PROPERLY-INSTALLED FILTERS!
