Troubleshooting

Important! Most operational malfunctions are not caused by faulty equipment but rather by
improper installation or planning. Therefore, a complete fault diagnosis always involves a
thorough examination of the entire system.

Residual water in the section
of the duct behind
(downstream) the NORTEC

Air velocity above the humidification boxes
is too high.

Units without mist eliminator max. (750
fpm) 3.8 m/s.

Units with a 4” (100 mm) mist eliminator
max. 885 fpm (4 .5 m/s).

7.87” (200 mm) mist eliminator max.
1082 fpm (5.5 m/s).

Install mist eliminator or reduce
air velocity in the duct.

Water drain is leaking.

Check/seal water drain.

Humidity/cooling demand
present however the NORTEC
MH does not humidify.

Shut-off valve in the water supply line
closed.

Open shut-off valve.

Reflow models: circulation pump defective.

Replace circulation pump.

Maximum
humidification/cooling
Capacity is not reached.

System incorrectly dimensioned
(insufficient capacity).

Contact your NORTEC supplier.

Unit improperly configured.

Check unit configuration.

Safety opens intermittently.

Defective sensors.

Inlet temperature low.

Insufficient water supply capacity

Check water supply, increase
water pressure.

Models with MH control unit: output
limitation active.

Deactivate output limitation (see
separate operating instructions
for MH control unit).

Note: On units equipped with a MH control unit (MHTC flow, MHB reflow, and MHTC reflow)
malfunctions during operation are indicated by a corresponding event message in the display.
For that purpose, please observe the information given in the separate operating instructions
for the MH control unit.
