Set a screen unlock PIN as an alternative method to unlock your phone should you
forget your unlock pattern.
Setting a screen unlock PIN

On the home screen, touch Settings.

Under All, touch Screen lock & passwords.

Touch Password > PIN.

Enter a PIN containing at least four digits, and then enter the PIN again to confirm.
Setting a screen unlock password

On the home screen, touch Settings.

Under All, touch Screen lock & passwords.

Touch Password > Password.

Enter a password containing at least four characters, and then enter the password
again to confirm.
Turning airplane mode on or off

Wireless devices may interfere with an airplane's flight system. Always follow the
instructions of the crew regarding the use of electronic devices on an aircraft.

Airplane mode disables your phone's wireless features, but you can still use your
phone to listen to music or play games.
Use one of the following methods to turn Airplane mode on or off:
•
Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Under Shortcuts , touch
the Airplane mode switch.
•
Press and hold the power button, and then touch Airplane mode.
•
On the home screen, touch Settings and then go to the All tab. Under Wireless &
networks , touch More and then the Airplane mode switch.
When airplane mode is on, is displayed in the status bar.
