2. Isolation
Isolate teeth using a rubber dam (e.g. OptraDam

®

Plus) or

cotton rolls.

3. Cleaning and drying the cavity
Clean the cavity in the customary manner using a water jet
and dry it (do not dry out).

4. Pulpal protection
When working on deep preparations, cover the areas close
to the pulp with a small amount of calcium hydroxide
material.

5. Mixing
Powder/Liquid Ratio:
The standard powder/liquid ratio of 1.4 g/1.0 g can be
achieved with a level Vivaglass measuring spoon of powder
and one drop of liquid. Hold bottle vertically when dosing
the liquid to avoid the formation of bubbles. Dispense the
required amount of powder and liquid onto the mixing pad.
Divide the powder into two equal parts. Mix the first half
with the liquid for approx. 5–10 seconds. Add the second
half of the powder and mix for another 10–15 seconds. The
total mixing time should not exceed 20 seconds. Add more
powder to obtain a thicker consistency and to shorten
working time.

6. Application
Apply Vivaglass Liner into the cavity with a suitable applica-
tor.

7. Light curing
Light-cure Vivaglass Liner for 20 seconds at a light intensity
of more than 500 mW/cm

2

(e.g. bluephase in the LOP mode).

Use a layering technique if lining depth exceeds 2 mm.

8. Restoration
Place the composite (e.g. Tetric EvoCeram) or amalgam in
the usual manner.

Note
1. When dosing the liquid, hold the bottle vertically (upside

down). To avoid the formation of bubbles, hold bottle
5 cm from the mixing pad with a steady hand and
squeeze gently.

2. If the nozzle becomes clogged, wipe it clean with a

damp cloth.

3. High temperatures decrease working time, while low

ones increase it.

4. Do not mix the components with conventional glass

ionomer cements.

5. If etching gel is used to condition the enamel/dentin

after having lined the cavity with Vivaglass Liner, wet-
ting of the liner surface with etching gel should be
avoided.

Warning
The contact of uncured Vivaglass Liner with the mucous
membrane, skin or eyes may cause irritations and should be
avoided. If Vivaglass Liner accidentally comes in contact
with the eyes, immediately rinse with copious amounts of
water and see a physician. Commercial medical gloves do
not provide protection against the sensitizing effects of
methacrylates.

Storage
– Do not use Vivaglass Liner after the expiration date.
– To protect the powder from humidity and prevent the

liquid from evaporating, close the respective bottles
tightly after use.

– Store packages in use at room temperature (2–28 °C /

36–82 F°).

Keep material out of children’s reach.
