Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-
free air.
1.1.2 Lithium disilicate glass-ceramic restorations (e.g.
IPS e.max
®
Press, IPS e.max CAD)
–
Etch with 5% hydrofluoric acid (e.g. IPS
®
Ceramic
Etching Gel) for 20 seconds or according to the
instructions of the manufacturer of the restorative
material.

Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-
free air.
1.1.3 Composite or fibre-reinforced composite restorations
–
Sandblast the restoration surface (according to the
instructions of the manufacturer of the restorative
material).
–
If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonic
unit for about 1 minute.

Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-
free air.
1.2
Apply Monobond-S with a brush or microbrush to the
pre-treated surfaces. Allow the material to react for
60 seconds. Disperse with a strong stream of air.
IMPORTANT! Contamination with saliva, blood or
water must absolutely be avoided during the entire
procedure. In case of contamination, the surfaces of
glass-ceramic, lithium disilicate glass-ceramic and
composite restorations can be cleaned with
phosphoric acid. Subsequently Monobond-S must be
applied again.
1.3
Apply the luting composite (e.g. Variolink N or Multi-
link N) according to the respective Instructions for
Use and insert the restoration.
Special notes
– If the primer dries out on the surface of the restoration
before blasting with a strong stream of air, the surface
needs to be rinsed with pure alcohol and blown with air.
– Do not insert the brush into the Monobond Plus bottle.
This may lead to contamination.
– Carefully close the Monobond-S bottle immediately after
use.
Warning
– Flammable.
– The product contains ethanol. Keep away from ignition
sources.
– Monobond-S is an irritant. Avoid contact with the skin
and mucous membrane.
If the material should accidentally come in contact with
the skin, immediately wash with copious amounts of
water.
– In rare cases, contact with the skin may lead to sensitiza-
tion towards the ingredients.
– Commercial medical gloves do not provide protection
against the sensitizing effect of methacrylates.
Storage
– Monobond-S should never be used after the expiration
date.
– Storage temperature: 2–28 °C / 36–82 °F.
– Shelf life: see expiry date on label.
