Troubleshooting preparation
The complexity of the circuits requires that service technicians have a working knowledge of inverter power supply
theory. In addition to being technically qualified, technicians must perform all testing with safety in mind.
If questions or problems arise during servicing, call the Hypertherm Technical Services team listed in the front of
this manual.
Test equipment
• Multimeter with a variety of jumper leads, including E-Z Hooks
®

Troubleshooting procedures and sequence
When performing the troubleshooting procedures,
• Refer to Section 5 for the system’s electrical schematic;
• Refer to Section 4 to locate power supply components and
torch components.
After the problem has been located and repaired, refer to the
Sequence of operation flow diagram in this section to
test the power supply for proper operation.
External inspection
1. Inspect the exterior of the power supply for damage to the cover and external components, such as the power
cord and plug.
2. Inspect the torch and the torch lead for damage.
