POSSIBLE CAUSE

1. Burner orifice clogged

2. Inlet gas pressure is too low

1. Improper log placement

2. Drafts or other air currents af-

fecting flame pattern

3. Air holes at burner inlet

blocked

4. Burner flame holes blocked

REMEDY

1. Clean burner (see Cleaning

and Maintenance, page 18) or
replace burner orifice

2. Contact local propane/LP or

natural gas company

3. Reconnect leads (see Wiring

Diagram, page 26)

4. Replace battery in transmitter

and hand-held remote

1. Contact local propane/LP or

natural gas company

2. Clean burner (see Cleaning

and Maintenance, page 18) or
replace burner orifice

1. Clean burner (see Cleaning

and Maintenance, page 18) or
replace burner orifice

2. Replace damaged burner
3. Replace gas control

1. Check burner for dirt and debris.

If found, clean burner (see Clean-
ing and Maintenance
, page 18)

2. Replace gas control
3. Problem will stop after a few

hours of operation

1. Refer to Air for Combustion

and Ventilation requirements
(page 5)

1. Turn control knob to LO posi-

tion and let warm up for a minute

2. Operate burner until air is re-

moved from line. Have gas
line checked by local propane/
LP or natural gas company

3. Observe minimum installation

clearances (see page 8)

4. Clean burner (see Cleaning

and Maintenance, page 18) or
replace burner orifice

1. Properly locate logs (see In-

stalling Gas Log Into Stove,
page 11)

2. Eliminate source of drafts

around heater

3. Clean out air holes at burner in-

let. Periodically repeat as needed

4. Remove blockage or replace

burner

OBSERVED PROBLEM

Burner does not light after ODS/
pilot is lit

Delayed ignition burner

Burner backfiring during com-
bustion

Slight smoke or odor during ini-
tial operation

Moisture/condensation noticed

Heater produces a whistling

Continued
