4. COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOL
The Control System (CS) will initiate ALL communications with the ST100 except as noted
below. The ST100 will respond to CS commands within 20 milliseconds after complete receipt of
a command.
The ST100 will transmit data to the CS, without CS initiation, under the following three (3)
conditions:
a)
Upon completion of Power Up of the ST100, it will transmit ASCII "P" + 00H. No
response from the CS is expected.
b)
Upon detection of a key press or key release, the ST100 will transmit the current state of
the key switches - ASCII "S" + Data Byte. No response from the CS is expected. See
Switch Data Byte Chart below.
c)
Upon detection of Shuttle Wheel motion, the ST100 will transmit ASCII "W" + ASCII
"Z" for clockwise motion, or ASCII "W" + ASCII "z" for counter-clockwise motion. No
response from the CS is expected.
