PREPARING THE FEED ASSEMBLY

Figure 7A feed includes the three-piece collar that has a bent end on each piece. Assemble the first two
pieces of the collar using one of the #8-32 bolts provided (see figure #7A). Now slip these two assembled
pieces around the throat of the feed horn you are using and add the third piece to finish assembling the
feed for this option. All feed options attach similarly using the tabs/struts and attaching to the antenna in
the same manner.

Thread a ¼” nut onto each of the three struts (see Fig 8A or 9A) you can also thread a 3/8” nut

onto the opposite end of each strut as well, thread these all the way down. The bent end of the feed collar
should be placed so it is away from the antenna. (see Fig 8A) Insert the ¼” end of the strut through one of
the tabs of the feed collar and lock in place by using a second ¼” nut. Do this for all three struts.

Put a steel washer on the 3/8” end of the strut followed by a rubber washer. Do this on all three

struts and put this end through the face of the dish as in fig #7. Be sure a rubber washer is between the
mount tab and the dish. Attach a 3/8” nut on the strut as it is through the dish and the mount tab.
Tighten all nuts and bolts. Be sure the feed is set at the proper focal length (see fig #7C), and is pointed at
the center of the antenna. The focal length is measured to the center wave-guide of the feed horn in most
instances. It is recommended that the focal point should be 1/8” inside the wave-guide.

KU3L

In some cases you may receive this Ku only feed assembly. This is made up of a horseshoe collar

and the three piece feed collar that are flat and approx. 2”long. These are identical to the Ku1 feed collar
except they are flat. This assembly is like the one above with the exception that once you attach the three
piece feed collar around the throat of the feed horn slide it into the slot on the horseshoe collar and attach
with the 3 (#8-32 x ¾” bolts and #8 nuts) This is attached into the slotted holes on the horseshoe collar to
allow you to fine tune the polarization. Proceed as per Ku1 instructions listed above.
You may place the three piece flat collar on either side of the horseshoe to allow for
F/l adjustment
.

NOTE: KU3 collar will be
shipped until out of stock
and we will change over
to the KU3L at that time.
