See above: Ku4FL: This feed assembly is
for a Ku band feed. This feed assembly
can also be used as a C14f (for a C band
feedhorn by removing the flat three piece
collar.) Notice the legs are not threaded
and they are fixed. Adjust the f/l by
sliding the feed in or out of the three piece
ku collar. Tighten the three piece collar to
snug the feed when you have set the feed
at the correct f/l.

Two options of Ku
feed collars.
Ku4FL left is set up
identically to the
C14F on page 9.
Now add in the Kul
collar. See Fine
Tuning listed below.

Fine Tuning the Feed ------------

Set the feed at the exact focal length we recommend. It will either be 36" or 57.6". This does
not take into effect the allowance for the feed manufacturer's recommendation that the focal
length be 1/4" inside the waveguide for C-band and 1/8" for Ku band.

Be sure to set the feed so that the feed is looking directly at the center of the dish. Use a focal
finder to center and square the feed.

Several things will be different when using the Ku only feedhorns. The collar will be our
three- piece Ku collar and our commercial horseshoe collar. To attach the Tri-Collar to the
throat of the feedhorn, you will want to first assemble two pieces of the Ku Tri-Collar; slide
it onto the feed and then add the last piece. The collar is assembled by using the included
8/32” x 1” screws, one in each piece. When the Tri-Collar is attached to the feedhorn, you
can then assemble the unit to the larger quad horseshoe collar. Use the three 3/16” x ¾”
bolts going thru the Tri-Collar and into the three slots near the center of the quad collar.
Refer to Figure #14 as reference.
