Adjustments will be necessary if re-calibration to a different dust is required and if the zero and
offset values have changed.
To check the factory setting - turn the instrument on and allow approximately five minutes warm
up time. Insert the calibration filter in the measurement chamber with the arrow pointing
towards the
probe handle and range switch on 0-200mg/m3 (0-200 version) or 0-2000mg/m3 (0-2000
version).
Turning the span potentiometer clockwise will increase the displayed value.
Fig 4. shows the effect of different types of aerosols on the displayed reading. Adjusting the
span setting will swing the straight line toward the y or x axis with the pivot being on the origin.
To check the span setting go through the zero and offset procedure then insert the calibration
filter into the measuring chamber as shown in Fig 3 with the arrow pointing towards the handle.
Adjust the span potentiometer until the display reading corresponds with the value on the
calibration filter.
