5. Maintenance and Servicing.
5.1.
Contamination of Lenses.
With optical dust measurement equipment, lenses may become contaminated with particulates
settling on the surface, thus reducing the signal for a given dust concentration.
By careful design of the optics and measurements chamber, the need to regularly clean the lenses
has been greatly reduced. If it is suspected that lens contamination has occurred, attach the air
purge pump to the probe (fig. 3) and pump vigorously with the measurement chamber open.
Any lodgement of dust will be blown clear. This operation is advisable after each use. to prolong
the serviceable life of the instrument.
If it is suspected that the lenses have become heavily contaminated, the instrument should be
returned to the manufacturer for servicing.
Care should be taken when removing the leather case from the instrument to ensure the front
panel switches are not damaged.
Note: The warranty does not extend to cleaning or general
servicing of the instrument.
5.2. Service
Department.
Casella's in house service department offers a comprehensive range of repair and calibration
services, designed to effect a fast and efficient back-up for all our products. The Service
Department is operated under the scope of our BSI registration for products manufactured by us.
We will however, undertake the repair of other manufacturers equipment.

be happy to provide quotations for individual repairs or provide annual maintenance under
contract.
