The Channel Banner
Any time you tune to a channel, you’ll see the channel banner appear across the top of the
screen. This banner holds all sorts of useful information and options:
1) Current date & time
Displays the day, date and current time.
2) DIRECTV Channel
The logo, number and call letters of the station you’re currently viewing.
3) Program
The title, start and stop times and rating of the current program.
4) Current Favorites
Identifies Favorite Channels List currently in use. (See Favorite Channels on page 61 for
complete details.)
5) Audio options
Displays brightly if alternate audio options are available. (See Icons on the inside back
page and Audio Options on page 55 for more details.)
6) Messages
Displays brightly if there are new messages in Caller ID & Messages. (See Icons on the
inside back page and Caller ID & Messages on page 63 for details.)
7) Parental Controls
Indicates the overall lock status of the receiver. It’s either locked, unlocked, or
temporarily unlocked. (See complete details on Parental Controls on page 65.).
