General Description
NOTES: Ultra320 DE110 receiving frames are indicated by their AMBER LED, while the
Ultra320 DE110 carriers are indicated by the Ultra320 logo.
For SCSI Ultra320 operation, the Ultra320 DE110 requires Ultra320 drives,
Ultra320 HBA, and Ultra320-compliant cabling (internal and external).
The StorCase Technology Data Express ® Ultra320 DE110 is a removable drive carrier and
receiving frame, designed to provide durable and reliable mounting for one (1) low-profile (up
to 1" high) 3.5" Ultra320 drive within a 5.25" half-height peripheral slot (Figure 2).
A field-replaceable fan in the front of the drive carrier provides enhanced heat dissipation (3.5
CFM). Refer to Appendix C for further information.
The Ultra320 DE110 allows a drive to be removed and transported to another Ultra320 DE110-
equipped computer or expansion chassis, and also provides the ability to secure sensitive data
by removing and storing the drive safely for future use.
This User's Guide describes the steps required to install the Ultra320 DE110 removable
enclosure inside a computer peripheral bay or external expansion chassis. This guide
supplements documentation provided with the host computer system, operating system, and
the drive to be installed within the carrier.
