The common service operations necessary to maintain the Biosafety Cabinet
for peak performance are listed below.
Note: This manual covers operation and maintenance operations for the
owners/users of the Logic Biosafety Cabinets. Complete certification
procedures, service operations and specifications are published in a separate

Procedure Stations. This manual is available from Labconco’s

qualified certifiers from Labconco. Call Labconco’s Product Service

Routine Maintenance Schedule
Weekly
• Using 70% ethanol, or a suitable disinfectant, surface disinfect the
inside of the cabinet and the work surface.
• Using an appropriate glass cleaner, or LabSolutions Glass & Surface
Wipes, Labconco part # 1570000; clean the sash and the surface of
the UV lamp, if so equipped.
• Operate the cabinet blower, noting the percent filter life remaining in
an operational log.
Monthly (or more often as required)
• Using a damp cloth, or LabSolutions Glass & Surface Wipes,
Labconco part # 1570000; clean the exterior surfaces of the cabinet,
particularly the front and top of the cabinet, to remove any
accumulated dust.
• Disinfect and lift the work surface. Surface disinfect the lower
plenum with a solution of 70% ethanol, or a suitable disinfectant.
Check the towel catch for retained materials.
• Check all service valves, if so equipped, for proper operation.
