MobileLink Receiver Use and Operation

ATTENTION!

IMPORTANT NOTE: THE USE OF THE RADIO TRANSMISSION IS SUBJECT TO

GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS AND MUST BE NOTIFIED BY THE BUYER AT

THE RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITY FOR COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENTS OF

THE RESPECTIVE COUNTRY.

Bullard offers the MobileLink handheld receiver as a field-use accessory to

receive transmitted thermal imaging video from the Bullard Wireless Remote

Video Transmitter (sold separately). Used together, these products enable Incident

Commanders the opportunity to monitor up to four different thermal imagers

being used at the same location by toggling between signals (depending on the

transmitter system installed). The mobility of the MobileLink is unique in that

the user can monitor the scene from various strategic locations, without being

grounded at one particular place. The MobileLink is compatible with all Bullard

transmitter and thermal imager models.

Setting Up the MobileLink

The MobileLink

(Figure 1)

operates with one 10V NiMH battery

(Figure

, the same battery that powers the Bullard T3 and T4 series and TACSIGHT

Thermal Imagers. When replacing the battery, it must be inserted so that

the lettering on the label is upright and facing the unit. Slide the top of the

battery into the allotted slot, and then press the bottom of the battery until

the unit snaps into place. For battery removal, simply pull down the handle

underneath the battery and pull out the battery. Nominal continuous operating

time for a fully charged battery is 2 hours. Use the standard charger or the

spare battery charger on the Powerhouse charging system (sold separately)

to charge the battery.

Changing Channels

To change channels, turn the channel selector on the top of the unit corresponding

to the channel on the transmitting thermal imager you wish to receive

(Figure

. The image from that thermal imager will appear. For a two channel receiver,

turn the channel selector to either A or B.

Connecting a Recording Device

Next to the channel selector, the MobileLink has a BNC connector as a video

output source. For convenience, Bullard has supplied a BNC to RCA adapter in
order to record using a standard RCA video component.

Connecting the Antenna

A “rubber duck” antenna is shipped with the MobileLink. Other types of antennas

with a TNC connector may be used, such as external omni directional and

directional antennas (50 Ohms impedance). For best performance, ensure that the

antenna is connected.
Signal quality may vary considerably depending upon location. Composition and

construction of interior walls and barriers will affect range. Likewise, outdoor

operation could be affected by large metallic objects, structures, fences, and

dense foliage. Repositioning of both transmitter and MobileLink may be necessary

to optimize performance. Do not expose receiver equipment to water.

Warranty

Bullard warrants to the original purchaser that the handheld receiver is free

of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for

a period of 24 months from date of purchase. Bullard’s obligation under this

warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at Bullard’s option, articles that

are returned within the warranty period and that, after examination, are shown

to Bullard’s satisfaction to be defective, subject to the following limitations:
a. Article must be returned to Bullard with shipping charges prepaid
b. Article must not be altered from its original configuration
c. A Return Authorization (R.A.) must be obtained from Bullard Customer Service

prior to shipment to Bullard. The R.A. should be prominently displayed on the
outside of the shipping carton.

In no event shall Bullard be responsible for damages, loss of use, or other

indirect, incidental, consequential or special costs, expenses, or damages

incurred by the purchaser, notwithstanding that Bullard has been advised of

the possibility of such damages.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY

AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO 2

YEARS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE OF THIS PRODUCT.
