ATTACHING THE CLUTCH ROD
(Self-Propelled Models Only)
1. Assemble the clutch grip (A) to the left hand side
of upper handle. Secure in place with clevis pin
-------(C) and hairpin clip (B). See figure 9. Head of clevis
pin should be to the outside of handle.

2. Slide the extension spring (D) onto clutch rod (Q)
—as shown in figure 10. Thread lock nut (E) onto
clutch rod approximately 2.Vz inches.
3. Hook top (hooked end) of clutch rod into clutch
grip. Hook spring into clutch bracket assembly.
—See figure 11. Adjust nut on the clutch rod so that
when the clutch grip is all the way up, there is no
slack in the spring.
4. Thread hex jam nut (M) onto clutch rod, and lock
it against the lock nut (E).

WARNING: Be sure to stop engine and
disconnect spark plug wire.
1. Remove the bag. Remove the air duct assembly
by removing two hand knobs and belleville
washers.
2. Remove the nozzle by removing one hand knob
and belleville washer.
3.---- Remove the hand knob and belleville washer which
-------holds the housing to engine brace. See figure 12.
