12. TO REGULATE THE PRESSURE
OF THE PRESSER FOOT
Liaht material will not sew well Vv^ith too much
pressuse, nor will heavy fabrics, under too little.
To adjust for correct pressure, use the built-in
darner. (Fig. 18, 19) When used right in co
ordination with the upper thread tension reauiator
and the drop feed dial, this darner becomes an
effective tool for obtaining good sewing results.
Open the FACE PLATE ond by pushing the dial
regulating plate (1) of the darner DOWNWARD
the pressure of the foot can be increased.
The graduator is numbered 1 to 4. (Fig. 19)
You will know precisely how much pressure there
is on the foot. The bigger the number, the higher
the pressure.
To lower the pressure below what is presently used,
push release lever (2) to arrow direction and return
pressure to show on the dial. i-Fig. 19.)
Then redial for lower pressure sought.
