ADJUSTING
THREAD
TENSION
After you sew a few stitches,
check if both upper and
bobbin thread tensions are
balanced and sturdy enough
to lock both threads in the
middle as shown in figure d).
Ir the upper tension is too
tight, the upper thread lies
straight along the top surface
of the fabric ®.
If the lower tension is too
tight, the bobbin thread lies
straight along the bottom
surface of the fabric ©■
Make
an
adjustment
by
turning the tension dial in the
direction of arrow,
iff Always check the balance
of
upper
and
lower
tensions by test sewing
using same fabric, needle,
thread and stitch pattern
you plan to use (See page
20
).

(a) Para la costura correcta,
la tensión de ambos hilos
es igual y tendrá que
juntar ambos hilos en el
centro.
© Si la tensión del hilo
superior
está
muy
ajustada, el hilo superior
quedará recto a lo largo
de la superficie superior
de la tela.
© Si la tensión del hilo
superior está muy suelta,
el hilo inferior quedará
recto a lo largo de la
superficie inferior de la
tela.
Es recomendable ensayar
antes en un pedazo de la
tela; el molde de la
costura, la tensión de los
hilos (superior ó inferior),
la
aguja,
y
el
hilo.
