The bobbin thread
Your sewing machine uses two threads to
form a stitch. The upper thread comes from
the spooland is threaded through the eye of
the needle. The lower thread comes from the
bobbin. Wind the bobbin before threading the
machine.
WINDING THE BOBBIN
Preparation Steps
1. Raise the presser foot and turn hand wheel
toward you until needle is in highest position.
2. Loosen hand wheel knob A by turning it
toward you with the right hand while holding
hand wheel with the left hand.
3. Open slide plate and lift out bobbin.
4. Place spool of thread on horizontal spool
pin D. If spool being used has a thread
retaining slit B, it should be placed against
the spool cushion to the right.
• Select correct spool holder according to
type and diameter of spool being used. The
diameter of the end of the spool holder
should always be larger than that of the
spool itself.
• Press spool holder C firmly against spool.
Winding Steps
1. Place spool of thread on spool pin. Snap
thread in the thread guide post 1.
2. Lead thread around bobbin winder tension
disc E as illustrated above.
3. Pass thread from the inside through hole in
bobbin and place bobbin on spindle.
4. Push bobbin and spindle to the right to
engage the bobbin winder. Hold thread end
as shown and start the machine.
• Cut off thread end after a few coils have
been wound on the bobbin.
• When required amount of thread has been
wound (winding will stop when bobbin is
full),
stop
machine.
Cut

• Push bobbin and spindle toward the left
to disengage bobbin winder. Remove
bobbin.
