Your 38" Mower installs without the use of tools. Raise Lift
Lever (Fig, 11) to its highest position. Turn Depth Adiust-
ment Knob to lowest position {Fig, 14}
1, Install Front Hinge Pin through Axle and Parallel Link
(Fig. 12), Secure with Retainer Spring,
2, Install Rear Hinge Pin through Mower Lift Brackets and
Parallel Link (Fig, 12) Secure with Retainer Spring,
3, Install Clutch Rod in Clutch Lever {Fig, 13 - Inset).
4, Move Lift Lever {Fig, 11) forward to lower Suspension
Arms. Slide Trunnions through Lift Bracket holes and
secure with Retainer Springs (Fig, 13)
5, Roll Belt over Mower Drive Pulley. Make sure Belt is inside
Belt Guides {Fig, 14)„ See Belt Drive Schematic Decal on
Mower Housing,
6, Use Lift Lever {Fig, 11) to raise mower
NOTE: SEE MOWER ADJUSTMENT, BELOW.
7, Turn Depth Adjustment Knob clockwise (r™x) to the mid­
dle of it's travel.

FOR ANY ADJUSTMENTS, INSPECTION
OR MAINTENANCE:
PUSH TRACTOR CLUTCH-BRAKE PED­
AL COMPLETELY INTO BRAKE POSI­
TION. MOVE GEAR SHIFT LEVER TO
"N" NEUTRAL POSITION, PLACE PARK­
ING BRAKE IN "ENGAGED" POSITION.
SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. PLACE MOWER
BLADE CLUTCH LEVER IN"ENGAGED"
POSITION MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE
THE BLADES AND ALL MOVING PARTS
HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED, RE­
MOVE THE IGNITION KEY, DISCON­
NECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE FROM
THE SPARK PLUG AND KEEP WIRE
AWAY FROM THE PLUG TO PREVENT
INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL START­
ING.
NOTE: BEFORE CHECKING THE SIDE TO SIDE AND
FRONT TO REAR ADJUSTMENTS, PAGE 10, BE SURE
PRESSURE IN FRONT TIRES IS 14 PSt AND PRESSURE
IN REAR TIRES IS 12 PS! IF TIRES ARE OVER OR
UNDER INFLATED YOU WILL NOT PROPERLY ADJUST
YOUR MOWER.
DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment for mower height is made with the Depth Adjust­
ment Knob. Raise Mower cutting height by turning Depth
Adjustment Knob clockwise {

height by turning Depth Adjustment Knob counterclockwise
