OPERATION
Connection Status
The Uploader VT8000 has a status display in the upper right hand corner that indicates when it is ready to
upload new files to a connected Room Controller. Refer to below for status display descriptions.
If no Room Controller is detected, the status display shows a red dot and the message
'
Not connected'.
If a Room Controller is detected that has hardware not supported by the Uploader VT8000 tool, the
status display shows a yellow dot and the message
'
Not supported'.
If a Room Controller is detected that has hardware supported by the Uploader VT8000 tool, the status
display shows a green dot and the message
'
Ready'.
SETUP
The Setup drop-down menu shows the communication port used to connect to the Room Controller. This
should always display
COMx STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port
when the Uploader VT8000 is in
Ready
status.
The value of ‘x’ represents a number that depends on how many active serial communication ports are present
on the computer running the Uploader VT8000 application.
Prepare Standby Image for Export
This procedure shows you how to select a standby image for display on the Room Controller when it is idle.
The image file must meet the following criteria to successfully upload to the Room Controller:
• Image size: 240 horizontal x 320 vertical
• File format: 24-bit bitmap (.bmp)
Only bitmap image files can be exported to a Room Controller. Selecting an image file larger or smaller than
240 x 320 or with a color depth less than 24 bit returns the following error message and prevents upload.
• Wrong file size message: “Error: Image Size is not 240 x 320 pixels.
• Wrong color depth message: ”Error: Color Depth is not 24-bit.”
1. Click on folder icon to select a file for upload (refer to Figure 2).
2. Select
Standby image
checkbox to enable file upload when the
Export
button is clicked.
3. Refer to Start Export to upload new image.
