Microphone Utilities
When
performing
to
a
live
audience
over
a
PA
system,
you
may
need
these
two
simple
but
important
features:
Mic
to
Headphone
and
Mic
Mute.
Mic
to
Headphone
sets
whether
what
you
are
singing
is
mixed
into
your
headphones
(or
PA
system,
if
you’ve
connected
your
headphone
out
to
an
external
mixing
board).
By
default
it’s
turned
on.
You
can
tell
it’s
on
if
you
can
hear
your
voice
coming
through
the
headphone
even
before
you
activate
loop
recording
or
playback
(in
other
words,
your
“dry
voice”).
When
it’s
set
to
off,
you
can
still
add
layers
to
your
loops,
but
your
audience
won’t
hear
what
you
are
singing
until
the
next
pass,
since
they
can’t
hear
your
real-‐time
singing.
This
can
also
be
useful
for
preventing
feedback.
Mic
Mute
does
exactly
what
it
says
–
it’s
useful
when
you
have
a
bunch
of
loops
recorded
and
you
want
to
perform
them
for
your
audience
and
you
have
no
plans
to
sing
over
top
of
them.
Vocal FX
VoiceJam
ships
with
an
emulation
of
TC-‐Helicon’s
professional
vocal
hardware
pedal
called
VoiceTone
E1
Echo
&
Tap
Delay.
You
can
open
and
control
the
effect
by
tapping
on
the
“E1”
icon
at
the
left
of
the
screen.
You
can
turn
the
effect
on
or
off
with
the
silver
button,
and
edit
the
sounds
by
dragging
the
knobs
around
with
your
finger
(the
knob
will
point
towards
your
finger).
E1
sits
at
the
end
of
the
signal
path,
after
the
looper
output.
This
means
that
whatever
you
loop
or
sing
will
go
through
the
echo,
but
the
echo
will
not
be
“burned”
into
the
loops
themselves.
Drag
the
effect
to
the
left
to
hide
it
(note
it
will
still
be
affecting
the
sound
until
you
turn
it
off
by
tapping
the
silver
button).
Alternatively,
for
less
than
you
probably
spend
on
a
fancy
cup
of
coffee,
we’re
offering
pre-‐looper
vocal
effects
using
Apple’s
InApp
purchase
feature.
PS.
Without
buying
the
FX
you’ll
still
get
5
minutes
to
use
them
each
time
you
run
VoiceJam.
Tap
one
of
the
FX
tabs
along
the
left
side
(C1
or
R1)
of
the
window
to
open
up
the
effect,
and
you’ll
be
notified
about
a
limited
amount
of
time
to
try
out
the
effect
before
it
turns
off.
It’s
easy
to
toggle
between
the
different
effects
using
their
tabs.
All
Effects
can
run
at
the
same
time
–
for
example
with
C1
and
R1
together,
you
could
enjoy
that
electro-‐
robotic
overly-‐pitch
corrected
sound
combined
with
a
soaring
cathedral
reverb.
