4.3.3. Compass settings
You can define the compass settings (Calibration, Declination and Timeout) in the
COMPASS mode:
Calibration
Because of changes in the surrounding magnetic field, the Suunto Cobra3 electronic
compass occasionally needs to be re-calibrated. During the calibration process, the
compass adjusts itself to the surrounding magnetic field and to tilting. As a basic rule,
you should calibrate the compass whenever it does not seem to operate properly, or
after replacing the dive computer's battery.
