4.5.2 Hydraulic System Type
The sprayer hydraulic system comes
standard as a Closed Center hydraulic
system. The valve block is manufactured
with the capability to be used with Closed
Center, Open Center or Load Sense
hydraulic systems. If the sprayer has not
been ordered specifically for the type of
hydraulic system your tractor uses, unless it
is Closed Center, a valve block modification
will be needed. The required parts must be
ordered from your dealer.
Open Center:
Figure 12 - Open Center
Converting the valve block to an Open
Center system requires a Normally Open
solenoid valve added to the "OS" port on the
valve block. (See Figure 12) Remove the
check valve installed in the "OS" port and
install the solenoid valve. You must first
remove the coil from the Normally Open
valve by loosening the plastic nut on the end
of the solenoid. You can now install the
valve and reinstall the coil. Connect the
Normally Open solenoid valve to the square
free hanging connector present on the valve
cable harness.
IMPORTANT:
Component failure due to oil
contamination is not covered under the
UC4+ Spray Height Control system
warranty. It is recommended that a
qualified technician does the hydraulic
installation.
Load Sense:
Figure 13 - Load Sense
Converting the valve block for a Load Sense
system requires a Normally Closed solenoid
to be added to the "LS" port on the valve
block. (See Figure 13) Remove the plug
installed in the "LS" port and install the
Normally Closed solenoid valve into the
port. Connect the Normally Closed solenoid
valve to the square free hanging connector
present on the valve cable harness. Remove
the plug from the "S" port and replace with
the 4MB-4MJ fitting supplied with the kit.
Connect the sense, "S", line port to the
appropriate location on tractor.
