Attaching the Grounding Lug
Use the procedure in this section to attach the grounding lug:
Before attaching the grounding lug, make sure:
•
The ejector levers are in the closed position.
•
The chassis mounting screws are tight.
•
The Performance Routing Engine (PRE) and line card captive screws are tight.
•
The power switches on the DC or AC Power Entry Module (PEM) are set to the Off position.

Attaching Grounding Wire to Grounding Lug
Step 1
Using a wire-stripping tool, strip about 3/4 inch (2 cm) of the covering from each end of the grounding wire.
Step 2
Insert each stripped end of the grounding wire into the open end of a grounding lug and crimp the grounding lug
securely to the wire using the crimping tool.
