OPERATION
RECEIVE
1. Turn the unit ON by rotating the Volume cx>n1roi dock-
wise. Channel 16 shouid appear on the LCD Display.
(Power On Channel default)
2. Press the UP or DOWN switch to seiect the desired
channei.
3. Press the monitor switch. (Auto-squeich turns OFF)
4. Rotate the ON/OFF Volume controi to adjust the
speaker volume to a comfortable level.
5. Press the Monitor switch. (Auto-squelch turns ON)
Note: To Ssten to weak signal transmissions, switch OFF
the Auto-squelch feature. (Squelch is on minimum
level)
Dual Watch
Dual Watch monitors Channel 16 tor activity every two
seconds while scanning or monitoring.
To activate Dual Watch, press DW Switch momentarily.
The Dual Watch Indicator DW will appear on the LCD Panel
indicatirtg Dual Watch Mode. If a signal is received on
Channel 16, the radio remdns on Channel 16 as long as
the signal is active. Otherwise Dual Watch resumes after 3
seconds.
To deactivate Dual Watch, press DW Switch again.
Channel Scan
To activate Channel Scan, press and hold the UP key for
about 1.5 seconds, SCN is displayed on the LCD Panel.
Notice that Dual Watch is ON automatically to cover
Channel 16 when SCAN Mode is activated. (DW indicator
is also displayed on the LCD Panel.)
If there is too much activity on Channel 16, and you wish to
exclude it from SCAN, simply press DW Switch momen
tarily to cancel Dual Watch. (DW is no longer displayed on
the LCD Panel.)
In Normal Scan, the radio will stop on the first active
channel and stay there as long as the signal is present.
Otherwise scanning resumes after 3 seconds.
To resume scanning when on an active channel, press UP
key.
To deactivate Scan, press DOWN key.
