Drain Valve Washer
Replacement
NO№ For replacement, use a ‘%i’’ x %" x %" thick washer
available at your neatest hardwatc store. For ordering replace^
ment washers, refer to the “I^rts Onler lisf secdom
• Turn “OFF” supply to water heater.
• Follow “Draining” instructions.
• Turning counter clockwise, remove the hex cap below the
screw handle.
• Remove the washer and put the new one in pla^-e
• Screw the handle and cap assembly back into the drain valve
and rctighten using a wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
• Follow instructions in the “Filling The Water Heater”
section.
• Check for leaks.
• Follow the lighting instructions in the “Lighting ” section to
restart the water heater.

Vacuum around base of water heater for dust, dirt, and lint on a
regular basis.

INSTALLED IN SUITABLE AREA: To insure suffi­
dent ventilation and combustion air supply, proper
clearances from the water heater must be main­
tained. See “Facts to Consider About the Location"
section. Combustible materials such as ciothine.
cleaning materials, or flammable liquids, etc. must
not be placed against or adjacent to the water
heater which can cause a fire.
