Blinds Chalet Tavarua Sunscreen Bamboo Roller Shades User Manual
Bamboo roller shade installation instructions, 1) tools that may be required, 2a) installation without head rail
Once the brackets have been correctly identified, mark the desired location of
the brackets with a pencil. Drill holes and install brackets with screws
.
Using a carpenter’s level, make sure the brackets are level before
installing the roller shade.
Note: For wallboard or plaster, use anchors designed for hollow walls (not included).
For concrete, stone and brick, use a masonry drill bit and anchors designed for masonry (not included).
To install the roll of bamboo, make sure the clutch and the idle end are firmly
seated and hold the roll so that the clutch is on the correct side and the chain
hangs down vertically from the bottom of the clutch. Insert the tab on the
clutch bracket into the center hole of the clutch and push all the way in.
Rotate the idle end so that the tab is at the top and slide this into the hole
in the idle end bracket. Then rotate the locking device so that it engages
the tab on the idle end and locks it into place.
The roll should now be securely installed in the brackets.
Slide the plastic idle end bracket cover over the idle end bracket. Slide
the plastic clutch end bracket cover over the clutch end bracket. Finally,
install the cord tension clip (see Section 3).
Your woven wood shade comes with a clutch to raise and
lower the shade and a continuous loop of plastic chain.
Always secure the chain loop to the wall with the Chain
Tension Clip to prevent the risk of strangulation.
Bamboo Roller Shade
Installation Instructions.
Thank you for purchasing your custom woven wood roller
shade. With proper installation, your shade should look beautiful
and provide years of service. Please check all the parts and read
these instructions before starting installation.
1) TOOLS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED
Pencil
Tape Measure Screw Driver Step Stool Level Drill & 3/32”bit Adjustable Wrench
2a) INSTALLATION WITHOUT HEAD RAIL
MOUNTING HARDWARE KIT INCLUDES:
Idle End Bracket - (1) Idle End Bracket Cover - (1) Clutch End Bracket - (1) Clutch End Bracket Cover - (1)
1 1/4” Bracket Screws - (4) 1” Chain Tension Clip Screw - (1) Chain Tension Clip - (1)
Make sure that the mounting surface is level. If the brackets are not level with
each other, the roller shade will not roll up evenly and the edges of the shade
may become frayed or damaged over time.
Identify the clutch and idle end brackets. They will be mounted facing each
other as shown below:
STEP 1: INSTALL BRACKETS
CEILING OR TOP MOUNT
Depending on the size of track you received, you will have
received a small or a large swivel bracket.
[figures 1 & 2]
For a ceiling or top mount, you will mount this swivel bracket
directly to the mounting surface.
1. Measure 4 inches in from each end of the window and
ensure you have the following clearance from the window
or from any protruding window hardware:
Small bracket: 1 1/4” from the hole of the bracket.
Large bracket: 2” from the hole of the bracket.
2. Make a pencil mark through the hole in the center of
the bracket.
3. Space any additional brackets evenly between the two
end brackets.
4. Drill holes through the pencil marks and using the correct
anchors for your mounting surface, attach the brackets to
the mounting surface. The arm of the bracket should face
into the room and to the right as in the picture above.
5. When all the brackets are installed, place the
track against the bracket and rotate the swivel
by pushing the front arm back and to the left,
until only the front lip of the bracket is visible.
Check that the bracket has fully secured the
headrail. Repeat with all brackets.

WALL OR FACE MOUNT
For this kind of installation you will use an L bracket
to attach the swivel bracket to the wall.
1. Attach the swivel brackets to the L bracket using
the screw and nut provided.
[figure 4]
2. Mark with a pencil the desired height of the
L bracket, based on the length of shade you
ordered. Then measure in 4" from the ends of
the headrail. Secure the L brackets to the wall
with the screws provided and using the correct
anchors for your mounting surface.
3. Space any additional L brackets evenly between
the two end brackets. Use a level to make sure
all brackets are level. Uneven brackets may stop
the brackets engaging properly with the headrail.
WALL OR FACE MOUNT continued
4. Ensure the swivel brackets are in the correct, open position (see item 4 in
Ceiling Mount).
5. Place track against the brackets and rotate the swivel to the closed position (see
item 5 in Ceiling Mount). Check that the headrail is securely held by all brackets.
STEP 2: ATTACH PANELS (AND VALANCE)
Secure the panels to the hangers with the velcro
provided. Take care to position the panels so that
the velcro engages fully and make sure the panel
is level. Repeat with all panels.
[figure 5]
If a valance has been ordered, attach the valance
and any returns to the front and the sides of the
track, using the velcro provided.
STEP 3: ATTACH THE CORD TENSIONER
Loose and dangling cords can provide a strangulation hazard for young children
and pets. Your shade has been provided with a cord tensioner, which must be
secured to the wall, to allow safe operation of the shade.
Locate the tensioner as close to the shade as possible and mount the tensioner
to the wall using the screws provided and making sure that the cord is under
tension, but still able to move freely.
WARNING:
Young children can strangle in cord and bead chain loops. They can
also wrap cords around their necks and strangle.
• Always keep cords and bead chains out of
children’s reach.
• Move cribs, playpens and other furniture away
from cords and bead chains. Children can
climb furniture to get to cords.
• Attach a cord guide to the wall. This can
prevent children from pulling cords and
bead chains around their necks.
