When the image is focused, press the shutter
button the rest of the way to shoot.

IMPORTANT!

• During movie recording, the Auto Focus Mode is disabled

and the camera switches to the Pan Focus Mode

automatically.

NOTE

• You also can change the Focus setting using the menu that

appears when you press [MENU] (pages 51, 232).

• When proper focusing is not possible because the subject

is closer than the Auto Focus range, the camera will switch

to the Macro Focus range automatically (Auto Macro).

• Whenever you perform an optical zoom operation while

shooting with Auto Focus, a value will appear on the

monitor screen as shown below to tell you the focus range.

Using Macro Focus

1.

Half-press the shutter button to focus the
image.

The focus operation is the same as that for Auto Focus.

2.

When the image is focused, press the shutter
button the rest of the way to shoot.

IMPORTANT!

• Use of the flash along with Macro Focus can cause the light

of the flash to become blocked, which can produce

unwanted lens shadows in your image.

• Macro Focus becomes fixed focus while shooting a movie.
